Construction has begun on the long awaited Milford Haven Public Transport Interchange, marking a major milestone in plans to improve sustainable transport and connectivity in the town and across the wider region.
Work got underway at the end of July with initial site clearance, enabling works and utility diversions. Main construction activity will follow as the project progresses.
Once complete, the new interchange will provide a modern, fully integrated transport hub designed to improve accessibility and passenger experience while making it easier to travel between bus, rail, walking and cycling.
The project is being funded through Welsh Government grants alongside match funding from Pembrokeshire County Council and aims to support economic growth, reduce transport emissions and encourage more sustainable travel choices.
The construction programme has been planned to minimise disruption to residents, businesses and transport users, with temporary arrangements in place to maintain access to essential services throughout the works.
The project team has also committed to maintaining safe access during construction, providing regular updates to the public, supporting local businesses where possible and reducing environmental impacts through responsible construction practices.

It will improve the experience for residents and visitors alike, support local businesses and encourage more sustainable ways of getting around.”
Deputy Minister for Transport Mark Hooper MS said: “I am delighted to see construction is due to start on this project, which has been supported by over £14m of Welsh Government funding.
