Rhug Farm Shop was delighted to have won Wales Retailer of the Year at the 2018 Farm Shop & Deli Awards earlier this year but next year it wants to go one better and win the National Retailer of the Year Award – but it needs customers’ help to win!

[aoa id=”1″]The Awards are highly respected in the farm shop industry for playing an important role in supporting and celebrating the UK’s independent, specialist retail market. Each entrant will be judged on the many factors covering speciality retail including highest levels of service, product knowledge, initiative, innovation and community involvement.[/aoa]

General Manager for Rhug Ltd, Graham Webster, said:

“We were delighted to be the Welsh winners in this year’s Awards but I feel we would be worthy national winners this time around. Like all farm-based businesses we are increasingly aware of how difficult things may be in a post Brexit world. We are always looking to diversify our business to keep it growing as it is such a valued economical resource to the county of Denbighshire. I feel we deserve to win this year due to our new venture, the Rhug Estate Drive Thru, which opened in the summer. This is the first of its kind, no other farm in the UK has tried this and the response has been incredible. Please vote for us.”

Judging for the Food Shop & Deli Awards will include mystery visits as well as public votes from customers via the Awards website.

Nigel Barden, Chair of the Judges and food & drink broadcaster said, “The Awards are a fabulous initiative for the sector and offer the best way to recognise and reward excellence for the UK’s local, artisan and high street speciality retailers.”

Please vote for Rhug Estate Farm shop, Bistro, Takeaway and Drive Thru online via the 2019 ‘Entrants’ web page at: https://www.farmshopanddelishow.co.uk/awards-directory-2019#/awards-6278523/awards-6278523 Voting closes on Wednesday, 31 October 2018 and one lucky voter will be entered into a draw to win a food hamper.

The Farm Shop and Deli Awards have twelve categories. Regional Winners progress through to have the opportunity to win the overall coveted title of ‘Farm Shop & Deli Awards Retailer of the Year’. Winners will be announced at the Farm Shop & Deli Show, Monday 8 April 2019, at Birmingham’s NEC.
