South Wales entrepreneur Stacey Adamiec is shortlisted at the National ‘Forward Ladies’ awards in Manchester this week as Social Entrepreneur of the Year.

[aoa id=”1″]Founder Stacey who has been shortlisted to the final four women across the North West, Wales and Ireland, has a social business portfolio including mixed use incubator hub Revue, Female Entrepreneur platform ‘She Started it!’, and Regeneration Consultancy ‘10C’.[/aoa]

Her unique social ventures have gained her a reputation for supporting the growth of local communities from mentoring startups, social enterprises and community groups, to her dedication to youth entrepreneurship as a role model in schools for Big ideas Wales with Welsh government.

The ceremony which takes place on Friday will bring together leading female founders and will take place at the prestigious 5* Lowry Hotel in Manchester, where Stacey will be in good company alongside the other 3 finalists CEO of the Jo Cox Foundation and author Catherine Anderson, Tech Entrepreneur Kate Carney and Kinship CEO Jacqueline Williamson to celebrate the work they have been doing as industry leaders.

Stacey founded her first enterprise after moving back from London as a dancer, having been inspired by buildings and spaces that support talent.

Frustrated by a lack of facilities and opportunities available she set about to create change. Since then her ideas have supported 100’s of start ups, sparked new ventures and collaborations and has been quietly driving social impact often being described as having quiet tenacity.

Stacey who has recently been working with the University of South Wales developing entrepreneurial women in Athens, has now started a channel documenting her entrepreneurial  journey. She says ‘the growth of the creative industry and hubs, particularly in Swansea and Cardiff have come a long way since I started over 10 years ago. Exciting collaborations are happening between enterprising individuals with ideas and the incubator spaces that help make those ideas happen. ‘After starting my first studio space believing I had reached my goals of running my own venture, South Wales female entrepreneur platform ‘She started it’ was born accidently from a cluster of female founders coming to me for start up advice, and not having time to meet with everyone individually I realised my strong network could help other women in business grow.

Stacey is currently working on her regeneration consultancy 10C matching creatives with empty properties and pop up spaces, with a firm interest in reforming the high street by supporting small businesses to thrive.
