A Christmas concert with a difference is being hosted at Gregynog Hall in Tregynon, near Newtown this year!

Quindici Chamber Choir is teaming up with Gregynog’s resident orchestra Sinfonia Cymru to put together a unique programme of festive favourites, combining some of Wales’ finest chamber music performers with choral classics and sing along carols.

The cosy and heart-warming hour-long chamber concerts are sure to uplift spirits and the audience will be invited to join in some carol singing, too.

The concert starts at 7pm on Tuesday, December 3 in Gregynog’s Music Room. Tickets cost £12 for adults and £5 for under 16s and are available at Sinfonia Cymru’s website at www.sinfonia.cymru.

Ezo Sarici, a regular perfomer at Gregynog, will be among the musicians performing for the concert and a spokesman for Sinfonia Cymru said: “We’re  really excited to be working with Quindici to put together a unique Christmas programme for our Gregynog concert.

“We put young, exceptional, professional musicians on the stage that they deserve. Many of our players take the helm and lead our projects, dancing between classical and modern styles, exploring their creativity and challenging norms. Our Christmas concerts will be no exception and will feature some special new collaborations.”

Quindici Chamber Choir meets in Tregynon every Tuesday night and their exceptional choral performances have delighted audiences across Mid Wales and beyond.

Lydia Bassett, Gregynog’s business development director, said: “Quindici’s Gregynog concerts are always a highlight of the festive season. The Music Room is a perfect setting for choral and chamber music and we are really excited by this collaboration between Sinfonia Cymru and Quindici.

“The concert on December 3 promises to be a very special event indeed and we will have lots of mulled wine, mince pies, tea and coffee on sale to help make the event feel very festive.”
