Street Food Circus is returning with The Big Banquet at Caldicot Castle from 23-26 May 2025.

The event, part of the Street Food Circus 10th Anniversary programme brings together some of Wales’ best known street food traders along with high-wire circus entertainment, and a range of activities for the whole family.

The Big Banquet brings feast-style long communal dining tables to the Medieval castle – with plenty of space for families to spread out around the grounds. Entertainment includes a free circus school for children, aerial performances, a bubble disco and a fire show. Evening sessions include music from DJs and on Friday night, the Old Time Sailors, a 20-strong sea shanty band, will perform.

Traders include some familiar faces from last year’s event including Two Lads Kitchen, Fire & Flank, Sin Nombre Mexican BBQ, Keralan Karavan – and Chantico Mexican BBQ who launched at Big Banquet 2024. Bringing new favours to the castle this year will be Acme Fried Chicken, Dough Thrower and, for a sweet treat, Drizzle, the Disco Dessert Truck and Paletas Mexican-style ice lollies

    Full trader list:

    • Westlands BBQ – the world’s only custom built BBQ Hot Rod!
    • Two Lads Kitchen – authentic Afghan street food
    • Fire & Flank – sous vide flank steak with cheesy garlic mash
    • Acme Fried Chicken
    • Sin Nombre Mexican BBQ, Chantico
    • Keralan Karavan – unique jazzed up Southern Indian kitchen
    • Ceylon & Beyond – Sri Lankan street food
    • Mandala Street Food- traditional Himalayan-inspired recipes and locally sourced ingredients
    • Dough Thrower – award-winning wood-fired pizzaria
    • Packed- Chicago-style Italian beef sandwiches, dripping in gravy
    • Church Of Churros – buckets of churros and Spanish chocolate sauce
    • Drizzle – Disco Dessert truck
    • Buzz Coffee
    • Paletas – untraditional Mexican ice lollies

Matt the Hat, Street Food Circus founder and ringmaster, said:

“We are thrilled to be back at Caldicot Castle for The Big Banquet – it’s a great location for locals and people visiting Monmouthshire for the Bank Holiday weekend, and it’s also within easy reach of Bristol and Cardiff.

“We’ve seen some great traders come out of previous Big Banquets – like Chantico who went on to be runner up at the Welsh Street Food Award. We’re always thrilled to be able to bring both returning favourites and to support new traders – we’re excited for everyone to try Drizzle’s Disco Desserts – in this unique, historic location,” he said.

Tickets are available from streetfoodcircus.co.uk. Opening times for the event are: Friday 23 May 18:00-22:00, Saturday 24 May 11:00-22:00, Sunday 25 May 11:00-22:00, and Bank Holiday Monday 26 May 11:00-20:00. Parking is available with pre-booked tickets. Dogs are permitted with a pre-booked dog pass.
