A brand-new pop-up space has officially opened in Maesteg Market, as part of a creative opportunity from Bridgend County Borough Council’s Economic Development and Enterprise team.

The pop-up space in Unit 14 of Maesteg Market, titled “For a Limited Time Only…?” will provide a unique opportunity for businesses and individuals to test their business ideas in a high visibility, low risk setting at no cost to them.

Pink Freak Boutique, a Bridgend-based business, is the first business to take advantage of the pop-up space to showcase their products. The boutique provides alternative makeup tools and accessories and will be based at the unit until Saturday 31 May.

Having this pop-up space has given me a massive boost for my business. I’ve had so many lovely comments from customers and to have a physical space through this initiative to reach more people is brilliant. The support I’ve had from the council has been nothing short of amazing and I would encourage any creatives to sign up for the space.

Councillor Neelo Farr, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economic Development and Housing, said, “I am delighted to see this pop-up space opening in Maesteg Market. This is a brilliant opportunity for businesses and individuals to try out their ideas and they will be fully supported by the council’s economic development and enterprise team. I am looking forward to seeing all the different businesses setting up in this space over the next couple of months.”

The pop-up unit will be running for a period of six months, with each businesses running the pop-up bringing something new and exciting to the Maesteg community.
