Popular Cardiff pub, the Owain Glyndŵr, has reopened following an exciting six-figure investment, marking the next chapter in the pub’s history.
Following a short closure, the pub has reopened, reaffirming its place as a much-loved fixture in the hearts of Cardiff locals. Situated in the popular St John Street area of the city, it continues to serve as the go-to destination for a refreshing pint and a satisfying bite to eat.

What’s more, those that enjoy playing traditional pub sports such as darts, will love the new dartboards in the venue’s all-new sports area, which also has a pool table.
With six Sky Q boxes that can show Sky Sports, TNT Sports and Premier Sports all available on HD screens, guests at the Owain Glyndŵr can choose what game they want to watch and won’t miss a moment of the action, with the pub showing all the big matches.

Following a full redecoration, the venue has been refreshed to retain its familiar charm, complemented by new furnishings designed for guest comfort.
Externally, the pub has also been given a fresh new look with a brand-new green and cream colour scheme, replacing the old black and white which is set to entice guests to the bar for a great-value pint of their favourite beer.
This is further complemented by the addition of a stunning new mural showcasing all of Cardiff’s key landmarks, paying homage to the city with a red Welsh dragon now watching over those walking by. Staying true to the pub’s Welsh roots, the Cardiff pub’s sign is also now in both Welsh and English.
Located near popular walking spots, dogs are more than welcome at the pub, making the venue a favoured spot for guests popping in for a pint with their pooch, with water and treats available behind the bar.
The Owain Glyndŵr also boasts a fine selection of Welsh beers, ciders and wine, all at some of the most competitive price points in the area. The pub also has an extensive offering of no and low alcohol drinks, ensuring all guests are accommodated to.
Geraint Howells, General Manager at the Owain Glyndŵr, said: “I’m delighted to welcome everyone back to our pub following its brief closure. We’ve kept everything our guests know and love, while making thoughtful improvements where it was needed, and I can’t wait for everyone to see the difference.
“This refresh is all about enhancing the overall guest experience, and with how much Cardiff loves the Owain Glyndŵr, we’re confident they’ll really appreciate the hard work that’s gone into improving the pub over the past few weeks.”
