Kidney Wales has launched a heartfelt festive campaign, encouraging people across Cardiff and beyond to help ‘Bring the Magic’ to children living with kidney disease this Christmas.
The campaign aims to raise vital funds for the charity’s annual Children’s Christmas Party, which will take place on Saturday 30 November at the Marriott Hotel in Cardiff.
For many children facing long-term kidney illness, Christmas can be overshadowed by hospital visits and ongoing treatment. But each year, Kidney Wales brings the festive joy back with a magical day full of games, crafts, food and a visit from Santa.
“The party means so much to families,” says a parent who’s attended for several years. “Jacob always starts asking in September if we’re going again! Kidney Wales go above and beyond – every child leaves with a huge smile.”
Running throughout November and December, the ‘Bring the Magic’ campaign combines storytelling, fundraising and community support to ensure every child can enjoy the wonder of Christmas.
Supporters can get involved in three simple ways:
Fund a Gift – £10: Provide a present for a child to open on the day.
Sponsor a Smile – £25: Fund crafts, games and festive fun to fill the room with laughter.
Bring the Magic – £50: Help make the entire event possible, from food to Santa’s grand arrival.
“This Christmas, we’re so proud to launch our first-ever festive fundraising campaign to help create a magical day for children living with kidney disease and their families,” said Ross Evans, Chief Executive of Kidney Wales.
“The children’s Christmas party offers a rare opportunity for them to experience a day of normality full of laughter, fun, and connection, surrounded by other children who truly understand what they’re going through. It’s a chance to make special memories with their families away from treatment and hospitals, and to remind these families that they’re not alone – Kidney Wales is here to support them every step of the way.

Local businesses and organisations are being invited to join the campaign as corporate sponsors to help spread the magic even further.
Corporate supporters can make a direct impact by funding key parts of the event such as entertainment, decorations, gifts and catering, or by matching public donations to double the festive joy.
