Quantum Advisory, the leading pensions and employee benefits consultancy for small and medium sized schemes and employers, is sponsoring third year Loughborough University student Sam Gibson as he continues his sporting journey with the university’s successful Rugby Union Performance Squad.
Sam has just begun his final year of his geography and management degree and will continue to play with the squad this season alongside his studies.
Loughborough offers a unique and high-level playing experience, with the Performance teams competing in both RFU National 2 West (Tier 4 of English Rugby) and BUCS Super Rugby, the highest level of university rugby in the UK.
Its rugby programme benefits from a formal partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU), alongside strong working relationships with England 7s and several Premiership clubs. These connections give young players access to outstanding development and progression pathways.
The squad had a hugely successful 24/25 season with victory in the BUCS Super Rugby League, and were runners-up in the final at Rodney Parade. The club also achieved their highest ever finish in National 2 West, placing fourth in the professional division.
Sam said: “I am grateful to Quantum Advisory for their continued support. I am passionate about rugby and being able to continue with sport while I study is extremely important to me. Loughborough University’s rugby programme is incredible and the squad’s success last season makes me excited for this year.”
Stuart Price, Partner and Actuary at Quantum Advisory, said: “As a firm we are keen to support young people so we are pleased to continue our player sponsorship of Sam for another rugby season. Sam is a very talented player, and we are excited to play a part in what looks to be another successful season for Sam and the squad.”
