A man from Canton has been charged following an incident in the Capital Retail Park Leckwith, Cardiff earlier this week (Tuesday, December 16).
Officers attended a report of a man with a knife just before midday.
A suspect had left the scene but was arrested within 45 minutes and a knife was recovered.
    Thankfully nobody was injured.
Jay Robert, 31, from Canton has been charged with being in possession of a pointed or bladed article in a public place.
He appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court yesterday today (Wednesday, December 17) and is remanded in custody until a further court hearing next month.
Inspector Richard Lloyd from Fairwater Police Station said: “We hope this update provides some reassurance to the public who witnessed yesterday’s incident.
“South Wales Police takes all reports of knives or weapons in public seriously and will always respond to concerns and reports.”
