Over the last year the ‘Raising Pennies’ team at Moneypenny’s Wrexham HQ has raised a total of £9,000 for a range of worthy causes nationally and locally, through a range of fun activities, including cake and book sales, pub nights, a Halloween party, Christmas raffle and jumper day and breakfast with Santa Claus.
All fundraising activities are organised and led by Moneypenny people themselves through a group called ‘Raising Pennies’, which is made up entirely of colleagues who are passionate about supporting good causes and making a positive impact in the local communities.
As a result of their efforts, a total of £2,250 is being donated to the following charities:
2Wish – a charity based in Llantrisant that supports anyone affected by sudden death of a child or adult under 25. It was founded by Rhian Burke after the loss of her baby son George, followed by the loss of her husband Paul five days later.
Dynamic: a Centre based locally in Wrexham that provides a safe place for children and young people with disabilities, with activities including after school clubs, nurture programmes, advocacy support and a signing choir.
Nightingale House Hospice: provides home from home care and specialist palliative care services for individuals with a progressive or life limited illness, and their families, across a wide catchment area, from Wrexham, Flintshire and East Denbighshire, to Barmouth, Oswestry and Whitchurch.
The Alzheimer’s Society: a national charity established 45 years ago that supports people living with dementia, and their families.
Moneypenny’s ‘Raising Pennies’ fundraising lead , Eve Douglas said:” Our teams had great fun coming up with creative and fun ways to raise funds for worthy causes that are close to our hearts, which were nominated by our people and it’s wonderful to know that the money raised will make a real difference to those charities. We aren’t stopping there though, and our chosen charities to support this year are Andy’s Man Club, a men’s suicide prevention charity, The Candy & Tibby Trust cat rescue charity, the national Ronald McDonald House Charities that provides home from home accommodation and support for families with seriously ill children and the Almost Home Dog Rescue charity in North Wales.”
