Principality Building Society has pledged to donate £10,000 to charity every time Wales win during the upcoming Guinness Six Nations championship.

Donations will be split evenly between Principality’s charity groups, Alzheimer’s Society Cymru and Teenage Cancer Trust Cymru.

Julie-Ann Haines, Chief Customer Officer at Principality Building Society, said:

“Supporting our local communities and helping them prosper is a key part of what we do as a mutual building society. We know how much our Members love their rugby and the national team, so we hope we can combine some Wales victories in the Six Nations with donations to our new charity partners Alzheimer’s Society and Teenage Cancer Trust Wales.”

The pledge comes as Wales’ largest building society launches its Home Team savings range to coincide with the tournaments.

Debbie Jones, Teenage Cancer Trust Regional Fundraising Manager for Wales said: “We were delighted to hear that our friends at Principality Building Society plan to celebrate the success of each Wales win at the coming Six Nations by generously donating £10,000 to their charity fundraising pot. Every time that Wales win could help us to fund literally hundreds of hours of specialist nursing care to support young people with cancer in Wales.  Thanks Principality. Come on Wales!”

Stacey Hawdon, Senior Regional Corporate Partnerships Executive for Alzheimer’s Society Cymru, said: “We have our lucky red shirts and we’re ready to cheer the boys on. Each win will secure much needed funds and support the 45,000 people living with dementia across Wales.”
