Three new members have been appointed to the Federation of Small Businesses’ (FSB) Wales Policy Unit, reinforcing the FSB’s contribution to policy making in Wales on behalf of its 10,000 members.

They will be joining a team of 13 members from across the country, representing various backgrounds, industries and skills of the small business community.[/aoa]

The policy unit, chaired by Ben Francis, Director at Hygrove, Homes, are appointed to guide FSB’s policy work in Wales, engaging with the Welsh Government, the National Assembly for Wales and UK Parliament.

Anna Burke – Marketing Director/ Director, Animated Technologies.

After working in the marketing department at the family-run jewellery company, Clogau in North Wales, Anna set up a creative agency called White Wabbit Studios in 2015, which later became Animated Technologies. Since the rebrand, the company has seen considerable success in winning multiple new business contracts with established engineering companies.

Anna said: “I’m excited to be part of such a great team of people who are all on the side of small businesses. There is such a great mix of skill sets and dynamics that I can now help and add my experience and knowledge into the mix.”

Ashley Rogers – Managing Director, Gill & Shaw Ltd.

In between his membership of regional Boards in North Wales including the executive committee for the North Wales Growth Deal (the NWEAB) and Chairing the North Wales Mersey Dee Business Council, Ashley runs his own marketing and business development consultancy, Gill & Shaw Ltd. He’s also studying Environmental Sciences with the Open University part time, continuing his passion for lifelong learning.

Ashley said: “As an FSB member from North Wales, it is a real privilege to join our national Policy Unit and help to shape the FSB’s future direction in Wales. I look forward to working with colleagues at a national level, supporting our small businesses across the country.”

Jenny Evans – Founder, Jenny Kate Ltd.

Jenny is the youngest member of the Policy Unit at 24. She’s the founder of Jenny Kate Ltd, a luxury, British-manufactured, homeware and fashion accessories brand. Since graduating from Cardiff Metropolitan University last year, her company has grown significantly, currently employing 10 members of staff across two offices in Cardiff and Plymouth.

Jenny said: “It’s a great passion of mine to work with and represent young entrepreneurs and I am incredibly excited and proud to be able to do this with the FSB. I’m looking forward to working with the Welsh Policy Unit and on a national level too.”

Ben Francis, Chair of FSB Wales Policy Unit said:

“I’m thrilled to be welcoming three talented members to the Wales Policy Unit. We’re committed to be as representative as we can of our members. Recruiting two additional members from North Wales will be a huge asset to the team as well as bringing in a new perspective from younger members.

“I’m looking forward to working with Anna, Ashley and Jenny at FSB Wales.”
