Meri Huws has been appointed vice president, and Michael Cavanagh, Quentin Howard and Carl Williams have been appointed as trustees. All four will begin their four-year term of office on September 1.

Mr Elis Thomas said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Meri Huws to the role of vice president of the library, along with three other trustees. Along with a deep knowledge and understanding of Welsh culture, Meri also has a wealth of experience to bring to the role.

“I am also pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Cavanagh, Quentin Howard and Carl Williams. The three have very different backgrounds and will bring a new and different perspective to the board as it embarks on a new strategic plan for the organisation.”

Welcoming the appointments, Rhodri Glyn Thomas, library president, said: “The four will offer a range of experience and valuable expertise to the board and I know that my fellow trustees join me in wishing them every success as they begin their term of office.”

Pedr ap Llwyd, the library’s chief executive and librarian, said: “It will be an honour to have these experienced and able individuals on the library’s board, especially as we begin planning the organisation’s next strategic plan.

“The four will be a great asset to us as we continue to develop and enhance our services and work. I wish them all the best as they begin their terms of office.”
