The Learning Tree, based in Cardiff city centre, is rapidly growing its services to provide vital support for parents whose workday exceeds core school hours.

The nursery which opened just over six months ago, provides dedicated childcare to more than 50 children and continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing a high-quality nursery environment and support for busy working parents.

At the start of September, the nursery launched a bespoke school drop-off and pick-up service at four local schools: Glan Morfa Primary School, Tredegarville Primary School, Victoria Primary School, Penarth and St Joseph’s RC Primary School, Penarth.

The children travel in a brand new 2019 model purple mini-bus, which has been tailored for them to have a comfy and safe ride to and from school.

Ms Perry whose child attends the nursery highlighted how this new service has improved her working day “The new Wrap-around Service at The Learning Tree has been invaluable to me as a working parent. It is such a relief knowing that I can still have a healthy work-life balance, with The Learning Tree taking my son to and from school on days when I cannot myself.  Without this service there would be extra pressure on me.  The Holiday Club that The Learning Tree run during all the school holidays is the icing on the cake of the great services they offer for working parents.”

Nursery Manager, Helen Vernon, says “We are delighted to be able to support parents that have demanding working hours, but I also believe that wrap-around care can be a huge support to the children who are transitioning from nursery to school.”

Chris Baker, the nursery owner said “This is the latest development in the growth of The Learning Tree Day Nursery. With the staff nearly doubling in numbers since our opening in February 2019, the receipt of a Welsh Government Childcare Grant and also a Capital Grant for re-landscaping our very spacious garden, we are confident that our package of care gives our children the best possible start in life and our parents a better work-life balance.”

He adds “By adding a Wrap-around Service to the Childcare Offer that is available at The Learning Tree, we are ensuring that working parents are provided with affordable, flexible childcare to fit their busy schedules.”
