HSJ Accountants has appointed Andrew Hill and Natalie Staples-Vvind as Partners after both accountants showing tremendous dedication to the business and appetite for success. The appointments come just over one year on from Andrew being appointed to oversee the audit arm of the business and a decade on from Natalie joining the firm as a trainee.

Robyn Hughes, a Partner at HSJ, spoke of the appointments: “As a business, we remain totally committed to ensuring that the firm remains an independent practice that continues to grow, that nurtures its team and offers the best and broadest service to our clients.

“With these objectives in mind, and eyes firmly on the future, we have appointed Andrew to head-up our audit team and Natalie to lead our tax department. As well as possessing excellent technical and leadership skills both have the innate ability to deal effectively with clients at all levels.

“Although Andrew originally joined us as audit manager just a little more than a year ago he has already become our principal audit signatory and as well as building up an impressive client base. Andrew is using his existing network to identify opportunities in other sectors, such as charity audits, which will help raise the HSJ profile going forward.

Andrew spent 12 years working with a top 15 national audit firm before making the move to HSJ. Speaking of his move appointment, Andrew said: “I am delighted to have been offered this opportunity with HSJ. The practice’s reputation for being forward-thinking and pro-active with its’ structure and services are why I was so happy to join in the first place. I have enjoyed applying this mindset to my background in auditing and compliance and am genuinely excited about how this will benefit our clients in the coming years.”

Since joining HSJ as a trainee 10 years ago Natalie has qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor, working closely with a broad spectrum of private clients and corporates from varying sectors and industries. Having progressed to tax manager overseeing all aspects of the firm’s taxation services, she has played a pivotal part in developing the service in many areas including more recently HMRC’s introduction of Making Tax Digital.

When asked about Natalie’s appointment, Robyn said: “Natalie has been with HSJ since the start of her career and really know what makes us and our clients tick.  She has led the charge in helping to ensure that client companies are making the most of Research & Development tax credits. Natalie has really proven her worth to HSJ over the years and I am utterly delighted that she has made to move to Partner.

Equally delighted, Natalie spoke of her appointment as Partner: “Becoming a partner at HSJ is a fantastic personal achievement after many years of studying, hard work and dedication to the company. I would like to think that it also provides incentive and aspiration to our junior members of staff early in their careers that this opportunity could be available to them in the future.”
