Cardiff Council is delighted to announce that multinational tech company, SIPCOM, will set up a new tech hub in Cardiff to serve their rapidly expanding global client base.

With its London HQ and New York office in place, the company specialises in designing and implementing unified communications and collaboration solutions for their clients. This involves bringing voice, video, instant messaging, email and conferencing together in a unified collaborative experience that assists people to work better and smarter leveraging both private and public cloud solutions.

SIPCOM’s clients include the Home Office, Civil Aviation Authority, SEGA, Ralph Lauren, Smith & Williamson and a range of businesses from small and medium to multinationals that span the globe. SIPCOM works with global technologies organisations, such as Microsoft, Cisco and CenturyLink by providing state of the art voice platforms for businesses in all industries both for wholesales and direct.

Cabinet Member for Investment and Development, Cllr Russell Goodway said:

“The decision by SIPCOM to set up a tech hub in Cardiff creating initially up to 15 well paid jobs is good news for the city and demonstrates the ongoing investor appeal of Cardiff despite an uncertain UK economic backdrop. The last year has seen 15,000 new jobs created in Cardiff and SIPCOM has been attracted because of the pool of high-quality talent based in the city and the availability of suitable space at the Council’s Cardiff Business Technology Centre allowing them to gain a foothold quickly to recruit staff”.

Chief Operating Officer of SIPCOM, James Davidson commented:

‘SIPCOM continues to grow rapidly with 140% year on year growth this financial period. After an extensive review of locations within the UK, SIPCOM selected Cardiff for its 24-hour Operations Centre of excellence due to the buoyant tech skills market, competitive environment and the guidance and advice of the council. SIPCOM plans to expand our operations to support our global clients in Asia, Europe and North America. SIPCOM has an exciting future ahead, and Cardiff has become part of the journey.
