The RSPCA is looking to identify a man in connection to an incident where a dog was mishandled and struck in Barry – and have released an image in the hope of finding the individual.
Reports were made to the animal welfare charity after a man was spotted seeming to strike the dog on Robert Street in the Vale of Glamorgan town, on Sunday 19 April.
It is alleged a man struck the dog on a few occasions. RSPCA Cymru would like to trace the person pictured in connection to the incidents – and are appealing to the public for their support in identifying him.
Anyone with information, or who is able to identify the man, is urged to contact the RSPCA’s inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
Inspector Simon Evans said: “Reports to the RSPCA claim an individual was spotted striking his dog, allegedly for pulling on the lead. This is clearly no way to treat an animal – so the RSPCA is understandably concerned.
“The RSPCA would like to identify the man in this image in connection with this incident.
“We’re grateful to the member of the public who reported this to us, and hope others in the community can now support our investigations. Door-to-door enquiries are not possible with the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, so we’re urging people to telephone us if they can.
