Cardiff is a culturally diverse city which is why it has a huge amount of different restaurants to eat at. Its food scene, in general, is booming, with occasions such as the Welsh Food & Drink Festival proving that the city has a real appetite for good grub. There’s lots of it around, too.

The United Kingdom’s eleventh-largest city has plenty to offer in terms of cuisine, with traditional favourites going down a storm, alongside culinary influences from all around the world. The Principality Millennium Stadium has one of the largest sliding roofs on the planet, and in terms of cuisine, Cardiff has one the largest selections of different types of food to choose from too. It’s a cultural hotbed and a city with so much to offer.

So, with tasty food available all over Cardiff, we thought we’d go through some of the best places to eat at in the city.

    Sushi Life

Located in a 1980s-style red-brick building which resembles a classic looking casino offering games similar to those available at www.slotsheaven.com/uk/casino-games, Sushi Life has gained a real reputation for itself in recent times. Everything on the menu is delicious, from its ramens to its California rolls, and the restaurant offers a warm, relaxing vibe. If you’re after beautifully served Japanese food at a reasonable price, then definitely visit Sushi Life.

    Saray

Turkish food is popular in the UK, but especially in Wales. When it comes to traditional Turkish grub in Cardiff, it’s hard to look past Saray. It can be hard to get a table at times, which speaks volumes in itself, but if you manage to get one, then we’re certain you’ll be leaving wholly satisfied and with a very full belly. From the free selection of starters with fresh bread, chilli and garlic dips to Saray’s stunning chicken kofte dishes; this Turkish delight is easily one of the best restaurants in Cardiff.

    Salkaara

After opening in 2018, Salkaara hasn’t looked back. Everyone loves a curry, but especially a curry from Salkaara with its southern Indian dishes. Chef Santhosk Nair has earned a reputation for himself around the city, which comes as no surprise once you taste their scrumptious offerings. We must warn you; Salkaara isn’t cheap, but if you’re after an Indian treat then you really can’t go wrong with it. Be sure to book a table though, it’s popular.

    Bwydiful

Raved about on the pop-up scene before opening its first restaurant in the city, Bwydiful does comfort food best. From the likes of Caws Caws and hash brown bites to brilliant burgers and draught beer, Bwydiful will fill you up. It’s pretty much guaranteed. It’s fairly reasonable price-wise too with incredibly friendly and welcoming staff, which is exactly why it’s always busy.

    Anatoni’s

Pizza, anyone? This isn’t just any old pizza though, it’s traditional Neapolitan pizza done extremely well. Anatoni’s serves up the traditional Italian classics we all know and love too, like lasagne and delicious fresh pasta. Make no mistake about it, though; if you’re after one of the best pizzas in town, then look no further than Anatoni’s.

    Curado

Tapas is best enjoyed over a drink, making places like Curado the ideal venues for Tapas lovers. Not only is it a vibrant, warm venue to settle down for a few snacks or a drink, but the tapas on offer is also superb. It has a downstairs deli which serves up a variety of snacks too, although its honey-coated nuts are a particular favourite.

Other places worth visiting are Le Monde, Heaneys, Nook, The Heathcock, Blue Honey Night Cafe, Casanova and The Brass Beetle.
