Two teenagers have been sentenced for the murder of Kamran Aman. Police were called to a report of stabbing in Barry Road just before midnight on Monday, June 30, 2025. Father-of-one Kamran died following his injuries, and a murder investigation was launched. Marcus Staniforth, 17, and a teenage boy, 16, from Llantwit Major, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were arrested nearby within minutes of a 999 call being made to South Wales Police. George Gillett, 24, from Bridgend has been sentenced to two years and five months in prison after appearing on Friday February 20 at Cardiff Crown Court. On January 6, Gillett changed his plea from not guilty to guilty of sexually assaulting a woman, following an incident that took place in a car in Bridgend on July 13, 2025. Swansea Council is set to invest nearly £70m in the coming year building, maintaining and improving thousands of council homes across the city. The historic Royal Alexandra hospital is to be transformed by a major £33m investment by Welsh Government that will improve NHS services for people living in Rhyl. The new purpose-built facility will include a minor injuries unit capable of treating more than 20,000 people a year and will ease pressure Ysbyty Glan Clwyd’s emergency department, nearby.
