S4C will broadcast live coverage of this year’s FIM British Speedway Grand Prix in Cardiff on September 2nd, the British leg of Speedway’s world championship. The racing will take place at the Principality Stadium, with 16 of the best Speedway riders in the world battling for a top place on the podium. A trailer firm has teamed up with luxury car maker Bentley to create a new record with a difference – powered by straw. With the help of a tiltbed model from Ifor Williams Trailers, a Bentley Bentayga set a landmark time for the famous hill climb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Sussex. Winding its way through the grounds, the challenging course has been the centre of the action since the festival’s inception 30 years ago. Business confidence in Wales fell five points during July to 27%, according to the latest Business Barometer from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. Companies in Wales reported higher confidence in their own business prospects month-on-month, up one point at 42%.  When taken alongside their optimism in the economy, down 11 points to 13%, this gives a headline confidence reading of 27%. Walsh businesses identified their top target areas for growth in the next six months as investing in their teams (44%), introducing new technologies (36%) and diversifying into new markets (27%). Construction is set to begin on the development of two new Community Living Schemes that will provide flexible, sustainable, low-carbon accommodation for older residents to help maintain their independence in their own homes for longer. The Welsh Government has teamed up with police forces to help educate motorists ahead of the 20mph default speed limit roll out in September. On Sunday, September 17 Wales will become the first UK nation to introduce a new default 20mph speed limit on restricted roads. To prepare motorists for this significant change, the Welsh Government and the police are working with the fire service, Go Safe (Wales’ Road Casualty Reduction Partnership), local authorities and other community groups to educate motorists.
