At around 7.00pm last night (Monday December 11) emergency services were called to the scene of a serious road traffic collision involving a bus and an Audi A1 on Ely Valley Road, Coedely. Three men – two aged 18 and one aged 19 – were declared dead at the scene.  Two further men, aged 18 and 19, were taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff with life threatening injuries. Two other people were also treated for minor injuries. The road has remained closed while investigations into the collision continue. A former care home in Penparcau, Aberystwyth has been sold. The site of the former Bodlondeb was initially placed on the market by Ceredigion County Council after the provision of residential care and all other services at Bodlondeb were discontinued in 2018. Priority was given to buyers intending on using the site to improve and facilitate social care or housing needs in Ceredigion, before being placed on the open market. Lung cancer affects almost 50,000 people a year in the UK, kills more people than any other cancer and costs the NHS more than £2.4bn a year. A man and a woman from Barry have been disqualified from keeping all animals for five years after they caused their bulldog to suffer through physical and mental abuse. Michael Cross of Barry and Paige Ryan of  Barry, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 28 November after both pleading guilty to one offence under the Animal Welfare Act. This offence was that between 1 July 2022 and 31 August 2022 at Porthkerry Road, Barry, they caused unnecessary suffering to a female bulldog called Luna by the infliction of physical and/or emotional abuse.
