A man previously jailed for selling thousands of counterfeit cigarettes in Swansea, has been jailed for a second time for similar offences in the city. Adnan Abdullah of Morris Lane, St Thomas, pleaded guilty in Swansea Crown Court to one offence of fraudulent trading, following an investigation by Swansea Trading Standards into the continued sale and supply of counterfeit cigarettes to shops across the city. The new Haverfordwest signature bridge has opened following a ceremony held on Riverside. The striking signature bridge replaces the old footbridge and is part of the wider Heart of Pembrokeshire regeneration project for the County Town, including the Western Quayside transformation and the public transport interchange. Construction work on a new specialist care accommodation in Gelli, for people with learning disabilities in adulthood and older age, is continuing to make progress on site. Communities in every corner of Wales will benefit from a new fund, worth more than half a billion pounds, to create jobs and grow productivity across Wales. The Local Growth Fund replaces money that used to come from the European Union. Decisions about how the money will be spent will return to Wales, honouring the UK Government’s manifesto commitment to restore decision-making on money that previously came from the EU. Community groups across Wales can now apply for grants of up to £10,000 to help them start a social business or community-led housing project. For over three years, the scheme has supported Welsh-speaking communities with high densities of second homes, with 64 grants awarded across Gwynedd, Conwy, Anglesey, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
