The Welsh Government has today announced it has sold Seren Stiwdios in Cardiff to major media infrastructure company Great Point Studios who have leased the studio since 2020. The purchase is yet another show of confidence for Wales’ flourishing film and TV industry and in addition to the sale of the site, the Welsh Government and Cardiff Capital Region have agreed a funding package of £18m to further develop the studios and facilities in Wentloog. £12m debt finance has been secured through the CCR’s £50m Strategic Premises Fund, with £6m in grant funding through Creative Wales. Alexander Wilkinson, from Birchgrove, Swansea, was arrested for a public order offence at last season’s Cardiff City v Swansea City game at the Cardiff City Stadium. Throughout the game, the 41-year-old was seen to goad, verbally abuse, and gesture towards opposing fans. Wilkinson, who has previously been subject to a three-year Football Banning Order, also attempted the breakthrough the segregation line between home and away fans. Saturday 9th September, 2023, would have been Robert Williams’ 37th birthday and South Wales Police is renewing our appeal for information. Robert was aged 15 when he went missing from his home in Resolven, Neath, on 22nd March, 2002. Despite extensive enquiries and numerous appeals for information over the past 21 years, officers have been unable to find him. A toy charity in Caerphilly that collects unwanted toys and donates them to children in need across the Valleys, has saved 9000 kg of plastic from landfill and provided 3000 children with toys since being established just two years ago. The Toybox project, which was established by father of three, James Morgan in 2021, is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers. Its Bedwas based warehouse currently takes in around 200-300kg of unwanted toys every week.
