CHILDREN have been praised for collecting more than 12,000 pieces of litter from beaches and parks near their school. As part of their Welsh Baccalaureate studies, groups of Year 10 and Year 11 pupils from Ysgol Eirias in Colwyn Bay organised two Community Environmental Impact Days. A new cross-border visitor experience exploring the life of our earliest settlers has opened at Ceredigion Museum. The free and accessible resource explores evidence of life dating back to the Mesolithic period. Researchers from the Portalis transdisciplinary pilot project, working with six coastal communities, have been exploring the earliest connections between Ireland and Wales dating back to 10,000 years ago. A leading Welsh housebuilder has completed the purchase of land to unlock a major housing development on the outskirts of western Carmarthen. A Cardiff man has been disqualified from keeping all animals after he caused his dog to suffer with a large mammary mass which had become ulcerated and infected. Aman Kahssay appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 2 August for sentencing. He previously pleaded guilty to one offence under the Animal Welfare Act in that he caused unnecessary suffering to his Staffordshire bull terrier type dog called Holly, by failing to provide a continuation of vet treatment for a large mammary mass which became ulcerated and infected.
