Swansea Bay’s team of district nurses is set to expand, making it even easier for patients to be cared for at home. From September, there will be significantly more district nurses working within the communities of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. An investment of £500,000 by the health board will see the workforce increase by 11.5 band five members of staff. New research released from the CIPD, exploring the quality of working lives in the UK, suggests employees in Wales are dissatisfied with their pay, with just 42% of workers feeling they are paid appropriately. The figures also suggest that 36% of workers are struggling to pay their bills and meet existing commitments from time to time, with 14% of workers saying it’s a ‘constant struggle’ to keep up with paying them. However, overall job satisfaction shows that Wales is on par with the rest of the UK, with results showing that two-thirds of workers are satisfied with their job. The…

The £8 million refurbishment of the 1 Callaghan Square office building has added 50,000 sq ft of available Grade A office space to the Cardiff city centre market, The investment by landlord Cardiff Office Limited, represented by Capital Trust, has transformed the 94,000 sq ft five-storey building and includes a new extended double-height reception area with lounge areas, meeting booths and coffee bar. New cycle storage and ground floor showers and changing rooms have also been added. In July, Lymphoma Action will be hosting two free webinars that focus on recovery after two types of treatment that may be recommended for people affected by lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. The first webinar will be taking place on Wednesday 12 July from 12.30pm – 1.30pm and will look at strategies for preparing for, and recovering from, a stem cell transplant. Business confidence in Wales rose 14 points during the beginning of June to 32%, according to the latest Business Barometer from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. Companies in Wales reported higher confidence in their own business prospects month-on-month, up 13 points at 41%.  When taken alongside their optimism in the economy, up 17 points to 24%, this gives a headline confidence reading of 32%. Welsh businesses identified their top target areas for growth in the next six months as evolving their offer 33%, investing in their teams 29% and diversifying into new markets 26%. A popular tennis scheme which has boosted the number of people taking up the sport in the Cardiff suburb of Heath, and which would see significant sums of money invested into local tennis courts, is set to be rolled out to six other parks across the city.
