Two Dolgellau men have been disqualified from keeping dogs for five years after they caused unnecessary suffering to their pet dogs by failing to provide veterinary treatment. Andrew Lloyd Pugh of Tyn Y Coed, Ganllwyd, Dolgellau, and Dominic John Thomas of Ffordd Heulog, Dolgellau, appeared at Caernarfon Magistrates Court on Wednesday 16 November for sentencing. It follows an earlier hearing on 19 October where each of the men pleaded guilty to one charge each under the Animal Welfare Act following an investigation into suspected wildlife crimes. Farmers from Montgomeryshire have raised vital funds towards the Bronglais Chemo appeal and recently presented the cheque of £1,270 to Dr Elin Jones, Clinical Lead at the Bronglais Chemotherapy Unit. The Farmers’ Union of Wales Montgomeryshire county executive committee had raised £500 and a raffle at the recent county farming conference raised a further £385. The FUW Group match funded the raffle and added a further £385 in group donations. Bron Afon Community Housing and local firm, WK Plasterers, are building brand new, greener homes in Victoria Street in Old Cwmbran.
