Christ College Brecon is calling on outdoor enthusiasts to join its charity challenge which will coincide with the King’s coronation this May bank holiday weekend. The Coronation Mountain Challenge is part of the school’s ambitious 2041 Mountain Challenge which launched last year and invites competitors to push themselves to their limits and take on one of three different hiking routes around the Brecon Beacons. The Challenge will be held annually up until 2041 which will mark the school’s 500th anniversary. Members of a closed club and Cardiff Bus staff have donated £8000 to a leading end of life charity in memory of late colleagues. The Tudor Street Transport Club closed in 2019 and was sold. Following distribution of monies to members and to pay final bills, the group decided to donate the remaining funds to Marie Curie. They met the team at the charity’s Cardiff and the Vale Hospice in Penarth to hand over the donation. A top dancer is planning to put her best foot forward at the London Marathon in aid of Parkinson’s UK Cymru. Angharad Harrop, who lives in Llandudno, has been inspired to undertake the gruelling run, which takes place on April 23, by the determination of the members of her dance and movement class who have Parkinson’s. The mother of three has an undergraduate and a masters in dance from De Montfort University, and will graduate from her doctorate in July. A young football star has the world at his feet after playing for Wales and rubbing shoulders with real life royalty and the Hollywood variety. Cai Lloyd Evans, 17, who lives in Bangor and plays football for the Wrexham AFC youth team, was a member of the 20-strong Wales Schools Under 18 squad who took part in the 2023 Roma Caput Mundi tournament in Italy.
