The not-for-profit social enterprise has launched successful music and sensory activities for babies and toddlers. Free Wi-Fi is now available in town centres across Bridgend County Borough with the aim of increasing connectivity among residents, businesses and visitors. The free service is available in the four town centres of Bridgend, Porthcawl, Maesteg and Pencoed. Tens of thousands of residents and visitors turned out for Swansea’s annual Christmas parade which heralded the countdown to the festive season. They enjoyed the free Swansea Council event that featured a vibrant mix of local community groups, spectacular professional entertainers, marching bands, magical floats, colourful film characters and festive inflatables. Merthyr Council has produced a video showing how the lives of local homeless people have changed for the better following housing support they received during the pandemic. Changes made as a result of the pandemic to the Emergency Housing Act meant a statutory duty was placed on all local authorities in Wales to provide temporary accommodation for all people sleeping rough or without a permanent place to live. The special item, which can be found at the Radnorshire Museum in Llandrindod Wells, featured on an episode of BBC One’s Bargain Hunt.
