A mum has issued a road safety warning after she and her two young daughters were seriously injured in a crash. Magda Polinska and her girls Alice and Maya were hurt when a vehicle crashed head on into their car in Merthyr Tydfil. Two day-time road closures are required at Llantrisant Road in Tonyrefail this weekend (September 17-18), to install a raised crossing point and enable the final resurfacing for highway improvements in the area. The Council has been undertaking a series of improvements at Llantrisant Road and Pantybrad. The works area starts near the Red Cow public house and continues past Tref-y Rhyg Primary School. Planning approval has been given for a new Welsh Medium Primary School, inclusive of childcare provision, at Chartist Way, Tredegar. The 210-place ‘seedling’ school is part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to increasing Welsh education opportunities in the County Borough.
