Historic video footage has been released, showing HM Queen Elizabeth II’s visit to Swansea in 1965. The short film, which Swansea Council has put together using footage from its West Glamorgan Archive Service, shows the late Queen and Prince Philip visiting the city’s Guildhall. Crowds of local well-wishers are also included in the video, along with the royal couple’s car journey through the city and their departure from Swansea railway station. A family from Flintshire is featuring in a BBC programme raising awareness about The Sick Children’s Trust, the charity that supports families with a seriously ill child in hospital by providing a warm, welcoming place to stay close to the ward and giving them one less thing to worry about. Thousands of mourners have began to file past Queen Elizabeth II, as she lies in state in Westminster Hall. The public have been queuing since Monday, sleeping on the streets of London to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II. Organisers of The GWCT Welsh Game Fair are delighted to report that more than 10,000 people visited the inaugural three-day event held at Vaynol Hall in Gwynedd last weekend.
