A mum has issued a road safety warning after she and her two young daughters were seriously injured in a crash. Magda Polinska and her girls Alice and Maya were hurt when a vehicle crashed head on into their car in Merthyr Tydfil. Alice, then aged 18 months was the most seriously injured, suffering a fractured spine.  Doctors initially feared that if she did survive there was every chance she would be paralysed. The Football Association of Wales (FAW) is delighted to announce the appointment of Matty Jones as Cymru U21s Head Coach. Jones, who is a UEFA Pro Licence holder, represented Cymru 13 times during his playing career and enjoyed time at Leeds United and Leicester City at club level. Two day-time road closures are required at Llantrisant Road in Tonyrefail this weekend (September 17-18), to install a raised crossing point and enable the final resurfacing for highway improvements in the area. The Council has been undertaking a series of improvements at Llantrisant Road and Pantybrad. The works area starts near the Red Cow public house and continues past Tref-y Rhyg Primary School. Planning approval has been given for a new Welsh Medium Primary School, inclusive of childcare provision, at Chartist Way, Tredegar. The 210-place ‘seedling’ school is part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to increasing Welsh education opportunities in the County Borough. Historic video footage has been released, showing HM Queen Elizabeth II’s visit to Swansea in 1965. The short film, which Swansea Council has put together using footage from its West Glamorgan Archive Service, shows the late Queen and Prince Philip visiting the city’s Guildhall. Crowds of local well-wishers are also included in the video, along with the royal couple’s car journey through the city and their departure from Swansea railway station. A family from Flintshire is featuring in a BBC programme raising awareness about The Sick Children’s Trust, the charity that supports families with a seriously ill child in hospital by providing a warm, welcoming place to stay close to the ward and giving them one less thing to worry about. Thousands of mourners have began to file past Queen Elizabeth II, as she lies in state in Westminster Hall. The public have been queuing since Monday, sleeping on the streets of London to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II. She was brought in a procession from Buckingham Palace with King Charles III walking behind the coffin, joined by other members of the Royal Family including Princes William and Harry.
