A sports-mad youngster scored a big win for his school thanks to his prowess as a line-out thrower in a rugby competition. Six-year-old Ioan Evans clinched a bumper haul of sports equipment for Ysgol Llanfair DC, near Ruthin, and a ball signed by Wales rugby hero Dan Lydiate for himself. Visitors to the first ever GWCT Welsh Game Fair at the Vaynol Estate, Bangor from September 9-11 will be able to try their hand at the ancient sport of archery. Gwynedd Bowmen, based at The Show Ground at Mona on Anglesey, have agreed to run taster sessions for anyone wishing to try the sport for the first time and those returning to archery after a break. The mother of Jordan Moray, who has been missing now for three years, has made a heartfelt plea for her son to return home and for anybody with information about where he is to contact police. Debbie Maray, who lives in Aberdare just a short distance from the flat from where her son disappeared, agreed to make a film in the hope that it would help the ongoing police investigation which has not turned up any new leads for some time. Thousands of runners of all ages enjoyed a run in the sun as the ABP Barry Island 10K returned to the popular seaside resort after a three-year hiatus. The event returned for the first time since 2019 and before the COVID-19 pandemic, attracting over 3,700 entrants across the 10K race and a series of junior events. A hydrogen fuel pioneer has secured £247K of funding to perfect carbon capture technology that will help lower the environmental impact of its waste-to-hydrogen plants, grant specialist Catax can reveal. Compact Syngas Solutions (CSS) has won £246,568 from the Hydrogen BECCS (bioenergy with carbon capture and storage) Innovation Programme, run by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and funded through the Net Zero Innovation Portfolio (NZIP). CSS, based in Deeside, Wales, had already won a BEIS grant worth nearly £300,000 earlier this year to advance its waste-to-hydrogen production technology, with a number of partners around the UK.…
