Aldi has announced it is looking to hire around 43 people in its warehouse in Cardiff over the next 12 months. In a welcome boost to the local economy, the UK’s fifth-largest supermarket is also looking to fill transport and warehouse roles at its Cardiff Regional Distribution Centre. This includes both full-time and part-time positions, with salaries of up to £11.95 per hour. Macmillan Cancer Support is warning cancer treatment waiting times in Wales have once again reached their lowest point since records began, with almost 50% of people with cancer facing worrying delays in their treatment. Published today, the latest data shows that in May only 53% of cancer patients started their treatment within 62 days – well below Wales’ national target of treating 75% of people on time. TWO local school friends with more than thirty years’ combined experience in optical care have been appointed to lead the city’s Specsavers store. Transport for Wales (TfW) customers are being advised to plan their journeys carefully next week with services set to be disrupted by two days of national industrial action.
