A British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) survey of more than 1,000 businesses, of which 96% are SMEs, has found that nine out of 10 don’t fully understand what the Government’s target of making the UK net zero by 2050 means for them. RSPCA Cymru has launched an appeal for information after three ponies were removed from common land at Gelligaer due to concerns for their welfare. Officers from the animal welfare charity worked in partnership with Caerphilly County Borough Council, Redwings, World Horse Welfare and The British Horse Society to help the ponies on Tuesday morning (14 February). On veterinary advice, a skewbald mare, a skewbald yearling filly and a chestnut colt foal were removed from the common. The ponies were not microchipped. Swansea charity Faith in Families has launched a Crowdfunder campaign to save the jobs of two play therapists working with children suffering the effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) such as abuse and neglect. Faith in Families works in deprived communities in Swansea, providing family support through its Community Cwtch centres in Bonymaen, Clase and Portmead. More than 15,000 families in Wales saved on childcare costs in December thanks to Tax-Free Childcare and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is urging those yet to sign up not to miss out. The latest figures revealed by HMRC show an increase of 3,595 families in Wales using the scheme compared to December 2021. Tax-Free Childcare is a financial support for working families with children up to the age of 11, or 16 if their child has a disability. Wales & West Utilities has commenced a major research study to understand the potential scale and timing requirements for any role hydrogen could play within the aviation sector. The aviation sector presents significant challenges in achieving net zero emissions, currently contributing to 2.5% of global CO2 emissions and 7% of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions.
