A team of Gwynedd creamery workers are going up in the world to raise money for a pair of charities that are close to their hearts. Staff from South Caernarfon Creameries will tackle the ascent of Snowdon on Saturday, October 1, in aid of the Robin Llyr Evans Memorial Trust, Cofio Robin, and The DPJ Foundation, both with strong associations across Wales, particular the North and West. Bus passengers and those heading to the capital for the Cardiff Half Marathon on 2nd October are being urged by Cardiff Bus to plan their journeys in accordance with their travel advice. The bus operator is alerting passengers to diversions and bus stop changes throughout the day from the first bus until 15:15, although each route will be affected at different times. The majority of Transport for Wales (TfW) services across the Wales and Borders network will be suspended on two days in October due to the on-going national industrial action. The National Union of Rail, Maritime, and Transport Workers (RMT) has announced two days of strike action will take place on Saturday 1 and Saturday 8 October, across Network Rail and 15 train operators. ASLEF has also announced strike action on Saturday 1 and Wednesday 5 October across 12 train operators, while TSSA have announced strike action on 1 October at Network Rail and 11 train operators. Talyllyn Railway has been awarded a prestigious ‘Red Wheel’ plaque from the National Transport Trust. The trust created the Red Wheel Scheme to recognise the most significant sites of historical importance to transport heritage in the United Kingdom. The Transport Heritage programme commemorates Britain’s rich and globally important legacy in the development of transport.
