Renowned Welsh artist Bryn Richards is celebrating his 100th birthday with an auction of his paintings on 24 May, with proceeds going to City Hospice. Born in Roath, Bryn has had a colourful life over the past century, starting his artistic journey at the Cardiff School of Art, before joining the Royal Navy and serving in Scotland, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Cardiff and Vale College has been chosen to be the only Welsh college to host WorldSkills UK National Finals in November – and it will host more competitions than any other UK college. Six venues have been selected across the UK to host the finals, and CAVC will host 14 of the 62 contests. The Royal Mint has unveiled a new jewellery division – ‘886 by The Royal Mint’ – which combines its’ 1,100 years of British craftsmanship with the latest technology, using high quality gold recovered from electronic waste. The jewellery and homeware division takes its name from the period The Royal Mint was founded, circa 886, and the inaugural collection features classic hoop earrings, T-bar chains, simple studs and elegant cuffs. Rhyl Town Councillor Cllr Diane King was first elected mayor in 2021. However, during her year in office, many events and activities were curtailed or cancelled due to the pandemic and subsequent slow recovery. Research from Grant Thornton UK LLP’s latest Business Outlook Tracker research, which looks specifically at 370 leaders of businesses with a supply chain, shows that over half (52%) are finding it harder to operate their business today, compared to 12 months ago. To manage cost pressures, 61% of respondents said that their suppliers have agreed to more flexible (longer) payment terms, and 55% said increasing costs in their supply chain are being passed onto their customers through higher prices for their products/services.  42% of the respondents had already increased their prices, with a further 51% planning or expecting to raise…
