John Fowler Holidays, one of the UK’s largest family-owned holiday park businesses, has purchased Cardigan Bay Holiday Park in Pembrokeshire thanks to a multimillion-pound finance package from HSBC UK. John Fowler Holidays, a third-generation family business established in 1953 in North Devon, now owns 13 holiday parks. RSPCA Cymru has welcomed the publication of the Welsh Government’s new Animal Health and Welfare Implementation Plan 2022-2024 – and hopes the document will pave the way for “big improvements” at a “critical juncture” for animal welfare in Wales. Ultra low emission vehicles (ULEVs) registrations across Wales shot up nearly 76% between July-August compared to the same time a year before. The Department for Transport’s (DfT) figures show that at the end of August, 12,900 vehicles belonged to Welsh residents, up from 7,330 on July-August 2020. The data shows the pace of moving to electric vehicles has also stepped-up, with Q3 2019 to Q3 2020 recording a 50% increase, up from a 33% rise on the year before. More than £13.6m has already been committed to fund over 50 projects as part of a Swansea Council scheme to help businesses and communities recover from the impact of the pandemic.
