Record levels of more than £260m will be invested in training healthcare professionals in Wales in an effort to help the NHS respond to the pandemic and challenges in the future. The Chief Veterinary Officer for Wales, Christianne Glossop has confirmed the presence of avian influenza H5N1  on a mixed poultry premises near Crickhowell, Brecon and Radnorshire, Powys. The premises holds chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, pheasants, swans and rheas. A 3km Protection Zone, a 10km Surveillance Zone and a 10km Restricted Zone have been declared around the infected premises, to limit the risk of disease spread. Learners in Wales will have improved opportunities to play and learn with musical instruments, as part of £6.82m in funding announced by Education and Welsh Language Minister Jeremy Miles to provide additional music resources to schools. The announcement supports the Welsh Government’s Programme for Government commitment to set up a national music service. A new footpath now open on National Trust Cymru’s Southwood Estate, will give better access to the ancient and beautiful landscape near Newgale Beach, Pembrokeshire.
