If you live in Bridgend County or the Vale of Glamorgan and are wondering what to do with your real Christmas tree after the festive season then Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice has a solution.
This January, volunteers for Tŷ Hafan will be in the following postcodes CF31, CF32, CF33, CF35, CF36, CF61, CF62, CF63, CF64, CF71 collecting and recycling Christmas trees and all to raise vital funds for children with life-shortening conditions and their families.
Claire Horrex, Community Fundraising Manager for Tŷ Hafan, said: “When a child’s life will be short, Tŷ Hafan will walk alongside that family throughout their child’s life, death and beyond.
“And it’s so simple to turn your tree into care and support for those who need it most.
“Just register your tree for collection on this www.just-helping.org.uk/register-tree before midnight Sunday 4th January 2026 and make a donation to Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice. We don’t make any money from the actual recycling of the trees itself so it’s through donations that we raise money through this project.
“Then Tŷ Hafan volunteers will collect and recycle your real tree for you on Thursday 8th, Friday 9th & Saturday 10th January 2026.”

Added Claire Horrex: “I’d like to thank the amazing companies and volunteers who are making this happen for us. They include Anstee, Pyle Garden Centre, Hurley Grounds Maintenance, Sinclair Group, Enterprise Mobility and Euro Commercials.”

This is the second year Tŷ Hafan has run this scheme with a pilot taking place in Bridgend in 2024.
