A footpath on Castle Drive, Cimla – which suffered a major road collapse due to torrential rainfall earlier this month – has been restored for pedestrian use. However, the roadway itself is likely to remain closed to through traffic for several months due to the complex and serious nature of the collapse. A new multi-use sports pitch is to be installed at Brynteg School for use by pupils and the wider community. The £320,000 sports facility which will include new floodlights to maximise use through the winter months and outside of school hours is being funded equally by the school and Bridgend County Borough Council via the Welsh Government Schools Capital Maintenance Grant.
