First Minister Mark Drakeford is urging people in Wales to get vaccinated and keep taking familiar steps to help address rising coronavirus cases. It comes as he confirms there will be no significant changes to Covid rules in this 21-day regulations cycle. Three weeks ago Wales moved to Alert Level Zero. This removed legal restrictions on meeting others and enabled all businesses to open, while also keeping key legal protections in place. Face coverings are mandatory in most public settings, everyone must continue to isolate if they have Covid symptoms or a positive test result, and businesses must take reasonable…

The history of horse racing is intertwined with civilization itself when man began to use the horse as a means of locomotion and train it. The first people who used horses were the Asians, approximately 4,000 BC. Over time, these animals were used in various activities, such as hunting, transport, and wars. The oldest account of horse racing was in Homer’s Iliad when Achilles organized a series of events to accompany the funeral rites of Patroclus, killed by Hector at the gates of Troy. During the Roman carnivals, horse races were also held. In modern times, medieval lords promoted disputes…
In today’s world, having a mobile phone is a life hack. Just imagine how you feel when you don’t have it with you. The anxiety kicks in faster than you can gather your thoughts and think about where you’ve left it. “What if I need to call for help? I don’t know anybody’s number! How do I pay for parking? How do I find directions?” It just goes to show that this pocket-size electronic device does so much more than store contacts and make and receive calls. They’re called smartphones for a reason since they have replaced many other devices…
Slot games are probably today’s most popular casino games in both ground and online casino. They are simple, with simple enough rules, and although they are so many in number and type, they practically work in much the same way. This makes it easier for players, especially beginners. The truth is that you need to play free slots – regardless of their type – this way you will learn the games well before you play for real money. The division of types of slots can be done depending on several factors: style of play, number of reels and paylines, as…
Transport for Wales (TfW) is asking the public to take part in a survey that will help future transport planning following the covid-19 pandemic. The new survey covers a number of different aspects of public transport that have been impacted by the pandemic, including people’s travel patterns, their future plans, and how they would like to purchase and use tickets. As TfW continue with their plans to transform transport across their network, they want to engage with the people they serve, gain insight and provide them with a platform where their thoughts can be heard, shared and acted on. This…

NEWPORT Cricket Club has landed a real catch – a three-year sponsorship deal from the Edenstone Group. The Magor-based homebuilder batted the funding to the club after hearing that coaching for junior players would be stumped without financial backing. Newport Cricket Club’s Mike Knight said: “We’re extremely grateful to Edenstone for agreeing to be our main club sponsors. The funding has provided a considerable boost to the club during the pandemic, helping to finance the junior coaching programme. “We have a very strong junior section with over 175 players across 11 junior teams from under-five to under-19. The major beneficiary…
All but four Welsh constituencies will see over a third of working-age families with children hit by the planned £1,040-a-year cut to Universal Credit and Working Tax Credit in October. This includes all of the 6 Conservative gains at the 2019 General Election (with 49% of families affected in Vale of Clwyd, 43% in Wrexham, 42% in Clwyd South, 40% in Delyn and Ynys Mon and 38% in Bridgend). The independent Joseph Rowntree Foundation has used the latest official data released last week to produce a comprehensive analysis of which parliamentary constituencies will be most affected by the scheduled cut…
Everyone over the age of 11 living, working or studying in Denbighshire not experiencing Covid-19 symptoms can now collect free Lateral Flow Device (LFD) tests from the county’s libraries. About one in three people with coronavirus do not have symptoms but can still infect others. Cllr Mark Young, the Council’s Lead Member for Planning, Public Protection and Safer Communities, said: “We are encouraging residents to take advantage of having tests available for collection and to take regular LFD tests. “Getting tested regularly is the only way to know if you have the virus and if people test positive and self-isolate,…
