Two men from Rhondda were jailed on Thursday, April 9, for supplying class A drugs and cannabis. Coran Davies, 23, of Porth, was arrested after officers used retrospective facial recognition technology on an image he’d sent to his drug dealer friend’s phone. The image was of him on a dentist’s chair, having just had treatment for new teeth in Turkey and further messages referenced supplying cocaine and cannabis. A body has been recovered during the search for a missing 17-year-old near Chirk Castle, police have confirmed. Officers from North Wales Police were called to the area after concerns were raised for the teenager, who was reported to have entered the water in a lake near the castle on Wednesday afternoon. Barry Dock RNLI volunteer crew were tasked at 4.47pm on Tuesday (8 April 2026) after multiple 999 calls reported a kitesurfer in difficulty off Friars Point. HM Coastguard requested the launch of the station’s D class inshore lifeboat (ILB) to a kitesurfer who had entered the water at Watchtower Bay and was being pulled along the coastline towards Jackson’s Bay, between Nell’s Point and Friars Point.
