Careers Wales has launched a new award to recognise commitment to the development of the provision of careers learning and support by post-16 education institutions across the country. Dogs Trust Cardiff is offering families the chance to take part in free classes to help children learn how to stay safe around dogs. The interactive 90-minute sessions, which will include games, quizzes and role play, will focus on helping children understand how to behave around dogs both at home and when out and about, and how to be kind to their four-legged friends. CARDIAC patients in North Wales are trialling innovative new technology that allows clinicians to monitor their health and recovery via mobile phone. Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board has teamed-up with healthtech company Huma to assess whether people with heart problems can be supported in their homes using an app that reports on their condition. A new Macmillan Information and Support Centre has opened at the entrance to Hywel Dda University Health Board’s Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest to help those looking for advice and support about cancer. The Centre has been officially opened by 10-year-old Ethan Llewelyn-Dimon, from Whitland. He recently raised a staggering £3,600 for Macmillan Cancer Support Wales by growing his hair to make a wig for the Little Princess Trust. Ethan’s family has been affected by cancer twice. Tesco community champion at Llandrindod Wells, Jayne Griffiths, has been donating fresh fruit and veg to local children and families to highlight the supermarket’s new Buy One to Help a Child scheme. Last week, Jayne supported teachers and pupils at Trefonen C of E Primary School in Trefonen with donations of tasty fruit and veg in support of a special anti-social behaviour awareness course run by the local police. The Football Association of Wales has confirmed that Albert Stuivenberg has left his position as the Assistant Coach to the Cymru Men’s National team. He will now concentrate full time on his coaching responsibilities at Arsenal. The Dutchman joined the Cymru coaching set up in 2017 after being appointed by Ryan Giggs. They had previously worked together at Manchester United. Stuivenberg was part of the coaching team that won the UEFA Nations League group and qualified for UEFA EURO 2020.
