Welsh Government Ministers have announced over £21.5m to help councils across the country fix flood damage to roads, bridges and boardwalks. Porthcawl’s Rest Bay Boardwalk and Pontypridd’s Berw Bridge will both benefit from the investment, announced by Housing and Local Government Minister Julie James and Finance Minister, Rebecca Evans. Ambitious plans to open up more Swansea waterways for boat travel took a big step forward today. A report into the possibility of creating new ways to travel from the mouth of the River Tawe up the Swansea Valley and towards Neath was unveiled. Award-winning pet food company Burns Pet Nutrition has launched a brand new support group exclusively for owners of overweight and obese dogs. Construction work is set to begin this week on making Swansea’s Wind Street a more family-friendly environment. South Wales contractor Griffiths will undertake Swansea Council’s work to improve the city centre venue. It follows consultation with local businesses and residents.
