A trio of Welsh celebrities has signed up to perform at a Christmas concert with a difference that is being hosted this year by Cerebral Palsy Cymru – Wales’ only specialist therapy centre for children and families living with cerebral palsy. South Wales Police Detectives have charged a 37-year-old man with Causing Grievous Bodily Harm (Sec18 GBH) after a serious assault in the Mayhill area of Swansea on December 1. Jonathan Campbell, of Mayhill, has been remanded into custody and will appear at Swansea Magistrates court today. Margam Country Park has been voted among the top ten most popular parks and green spaces in the UK after a month long public vote. Work on the community athletics hub at Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School in Oakdale is nearing completion, with the facility expected to be fully open by spring 2021. The new synthetic athletics track will be the first of its kind in Caerphilly County Borough and will allow residents to train all year round on the durable surface. The RSPCA received more than 300 reports of abandoned animals across Wales last winter* and is worried a surge in pet ownership could result in more unwanted animals this year. Last winter*, the charity received 4,650 reports of abandoned animals including 316 in Wales. The highest number of reports coming from Cardiff (38), Swansea (28) and Rhonnda Cynon Taff (26) – full table below.
