More than 2,250 hikers did something Mighty for Macmillan over the weekend of 5 July, by taking on the charity’s Gower Peninsula Mighty Hike. Thousands of athletes and spectators were in their element today for the fourth edition of IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea as the event became the UK’s first-ever IRONMAN Pro Series race. South Wales Police have confirmed that 13 individuals were arrested during a protest in Cardiff city centre on Saturday, 12 July. The arrests took place in the Central Square area, where officers intervened as part of an ongoing operation. The individuals were detained on suspicion of committing offences under Section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000, relating to the support of a proscribed organisation. All 13 have since been released on police bail while investigations continue. The inquiry is being led by Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) Wales, with support from South Wales Police, and remains ongoing.

The first phase of delivering new secure cycle parking in Cardiff city centre will start on August 1st with the first six secure cycling units installed by Cardiff Castle for public and visitors to use.
