South Wales Police have confirmed that 13 individuals were arrested during a protest in Cardiff city centre on Saturday, 12 July. The arrests took place in the Central Square area, where officers intervened as part of an ongoing operation.
The individuals were detained on suspicion of committing offences under Section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000, relating to the support of a proscribed organisation.
All 13 have since been released on police bail while investigations continue. The inquiry is being led by Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) Wales, with support from South Wales Police, and remains ongoing.
