Swansea Council is working to save an important former industrial building for future generations. The historic Laboratory Building on the Hafod-Morfa Copperworks site could become a restaurant if new plans are approved and funding secured to repair the dilapidated structure. A planning application has been submitted. If approved – and funding is sourced to facilitate the renovation with an estimated investment of £2.5m – the new facility would stand next to a Penderyn Distillery attraction being developed now. Aberystwyth University has announced that it will begin in-person teaching next week. The decision has been sanctioned by local regional and national partners as part of a formal discussion around the recent increase in cases in Ceredigion. Over the weekend a temporary suspension of in-person teaching for the first week of the teaching term was announced.  The decision came due to uncertainty about the levels of community transmission over the weekend. Cardiff Music Board has issued a warning of ‘serious consequences’ for the future of live music in Cardiff if additional funds are not made available by central Government.
