The Welsh Government has confirmed driving lessons will be able to take place in Wales from 27 July. Theory tests will restart on Monday 3 August, along with vocational, motorcycle, car and trailer tests, and tractor driving tests. Driving tests will start from Monday 17 August, as well as the restarting of driving instructor testing and standards checks. The family of a man who died after he is believed to have fallen from a moving vehicle in Grangetown have paid tribute to him. James Davies was seriously injured during the incident involving a green Skoda Citigo car on Avondale Road at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, June 23. He died in hospital the following day. Smoking could be banned outsides pubs, cafes and restaurants, if new Welsh Government proposals get the go-ahead. ASH Wales has welcomed the plans which would see tough new anti-smoking laws extended to the outdoor seating areas of pubs, cafes, bars and restaurants to protect non-smokers from the effects of second hand smoke. The world’s first preserved railway in Mid Wales was delighted to welcome back visitors this week (Monday) as its café opened for the first time since the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in March. Talyllyn Railway’s general manager Stuart Williams said visitors were able to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and snack or meal in a picnic train that doesn’t move off the platform. The new feature has been planted outside the Civic Centre using a design by Swansea City of Sanctuary committee member Thanuja Hettiarachchi.
