A grandmother says she “almost died” during a gruelling 730-mile, four-month long charity coastal walk, becoming trapped in a ditch in filthy water up to her neck for around an hour. Janet Baldock tackled the entire Wales Coastal Path between April and August, missing out Anglesey but completing her 730th and final mile on her 68th birthday. A man from Swansea has been jailed after pleading guilty to his involvement in the supply of Class A drugs. 36-year-old David Davies, from Loughor, was subject of a warrant at his home address in July. Large quantities of drugs, paraphernalia and cash were found during the warrant. Following this, intelligence led officers to a self-storage unit being used by Davies, in which a significant amount of further drugs and other materials were discovered. A 33-year-old woman has been jailed after attempting to frame her partner’s ex-partner. Rebecca Louise Jones, of Trem Engan, Penygroes, appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court on 20 November after admitting to perverting the course of justice. In March 2023, Jones and her partner reported that they were being harassed by his ex-partner, saying they were receiving multiple offensive and threatening messages each day. The man’s ex-partner was arrested for these allegations, but she claimed they were malicious, and she was being framed. Transport for Wales (TfW) and Edwards Coaches have taken a step towards building a greener public transport network across Wales by converting two existing diesel buses into fully electric vehicles. With trials underway, the bus repowering project represents a significant step forward in building a more sustainable, reliable, and efficient public transport network across Wales. Bus repowering involves removing the diesel engine and fuel system from a bus and replacing them with a modern electric drivetrain and battery system. Car parking charges at Penarth Cliff Walk, Cold Knap and Bron-y-Mor in Barry are to be suspended until the Spring 2026. The charges were introduced in September as part of the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s wider car parking strategy. A report is now being presented to the Council’s Cabinet on 04 December recommending these be suspended temporarily. Work to transform the lodge building at Tredegar Park into a café has got underway. Initial work will see repairs made to the main lodge building, both inside and outside. Work inside the building will include installing new access points, installing heating and electrical systems in line with the council’s zero-carbon goals, and creating office space on the upper floors for park staff.
